Welcome to Ingram Middle School

Dear IMS parents and students:
Welcome back to school. All of us at IMS are excited about the start of the 2010-2011 school year, and we’ve been working all summer to get ready for August 23rd. There are a number of new faces on the Middle School campus and with the addition of these people and our returning staff, we are in for another dynamite year. The new staff members are:
Matt Wolfe –Social Studies 7th/8th
Kellye Townsend –Science/PAP BIO 8th
Nora Zaizar – Spanish
Stephen Franklin- Math/Algebra 8th
Donna Tolbert -Social Studies 7th/8th
We want every student to have a successful school year, and we’re going to work to make that happen. There are some things that our families can do to help us, and I hope you will. Parental involvement in a child’s education has been shown to have a positive effect on academic performance--children whose parents are involved with their learning do better in school than children whose parents don’t take part.
Emphasizing the importance of school and making sure your child is rested and ready to learn every day are very important ways that parents can help us teach their children. Checking that homework has been completed and making sure your child has a quiet place to do homework also helps.
We also encourage you to stay in touch with your child’s teacher or teachers. They can give you important information about your child’s progress throughout the year.
We want this year to be the best ever at IMS, and we’re looking forward to partnering with our parents and students to increase academic achievement. We are proud to announce that Ingram Middle School has moved from a Recognized to Exemplary campus. Congratulations to all for a job well done.
Welcome back! I hope you all had a safe, healthy and happy summer and you’re ready to make this a successful school year.
