Notice is hereby given that a Special Board Meeting of the Ingram Independent School District, Board of Trustees, will be held on, Friday, August 27, 2010 at 12:00 PM, in the Ingram ISD Boardroom at 510 College Street, Ingram, Texas 78025.
By 2011, IISD will be a Texas Hill Country leader in academic excellence and recognized as innovative, dynamic, and an exhilarating community in which to learn, teach, and work.
Board Goals
2010 – 2011
1. Accountability: IISD will annually show improved scores in each subject area, at each grade level and in each sub-group in order to become a recognized district by 2009, with the ultimate goal of becoming an exemplary district.
2. Curriculum: IISD will continue to develop and implement a curriculum that is aligned to the TEKS and to the TAKS, vertically aligned within the district.
3. Non-core Subjects / Electives / Extracurricular Activities: IISD will continue to offer, emphasize, and support academic options not tested by the State, as well as extracurricular activities in order to offer students options that develop a well-rounded citizen.
Our purpose is to provide an environment for learning where each student masters the core curriculum, is continually inspired to new levels of intellectual challenge, thoughtfully prepares for a successful life after high school and looks forward to coming to school.
Roles & Responsibilities
A school board has certain key roles and responsibilities. Those responsibilities include:
Ensuring the creation of a vision and goals for the district; evaluating district success
Adopting policies that guide district actions
Hiring a superintendent to serve as administrator of the district and evaluating the Superintendent's success
Approving an annual budget consistent with the district's vision
Communicating the district's vision and success to the community
